General terms and conditions

 

All products on this site are supplied by John Chapman Limited, a member of the British Travelgoods and Accessories Association, and are sold to you on the terms and conditions set out here. By placing an order on this website, you agree to be bound by these terms and condition, which may change from time to time without notice.

We accept most credit cards. If you are shopping from outside the UK your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency. All offers are subject to availability and we reserve the right to change prices without notice, although you will not be required to pay a different price to that prevailing at the time of your order. No contract with you exists until we have accepted your order and you do not own the goods until we receive payment in full. We will take payment for the goods on receipt of your order, unless the goods cannot be despatched to you within 5 business days of receipt of your order, in which case, prior to taking payment for the goods, we will contact you to confirm that the estimated date of despatch of the goods is acceptable to you.

We reserve the right to refuse an order, whether as a result of goods being unavailable or when we reasonably believe payment for the goods cannot be made. We will contact you if there is any problem with your order.

These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between John Chapman Limited and you, the customer, in respect of the use of our services and website. They supersede all prior agreements, arrangements and representations. You should read these terms and conditions carefully as they cannot be altered without agreement.

 

These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

 

Limitation of liability

 

John Chapman Limited will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, punitive, exemplary or consequential losses or damages arising out of access to or the use/inability to use, this website or any information contained in it or arising out of the services we provide. This includes loss of profit and the like, whether or not in the contemplation of the parties, whether based on breach of contract, tort (including negligence), product liability or otherwise, even if advised of the potential damages. This does not affect your statutory rights.

All content and other material available on this website or which forms part of the service imcluding, but not limited to text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, data compilations, software and the compilation thereof (the “Content”) is the property of John Chapman Limited. The logos and service marks displayed on the website are registered and unregistered marks of John Chapman Limited in the UK and other countries and are protected by UK and international law.

 

Neither the Content nor any other portion of the website may be used, reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, resold, accessed, modified or otherwise exploited, in full or in part, for any purpose without prior written consent. 

 

Cabin baggage allowances

 

It is essential that you check the baggage allowances permitted by your carrier, as these may vary from time to time and between carriers. The fact that a piece of luggage complies with IATA cabin baggage guidelines does not guarantee that it will be accepted by every carrier as a carry-on bag.

Accuracy of information

 

All weights and measurements shown on this website are approximate. All colours shown are reproduced to the best of our ability but, depending on your colour settings and variations in material supplied to us, may vary from the actual colour of goods supplied to you. The dimensions of the goods shown on this website represent the overall dimensions, including any relevant pockets, but you should be aware that, as the goods are generally made from soft fabrics, the actual dimensions will depend on how the product is filled, used or carried at any particular time.

 

Delivery

  

Deliveries to the UK are charged at 10% of the value of the order (excluding VAT) up to £50, and a flat rate of £7.50 thereafter. All deliveries to mainland UK and certain islands are made by courier. Deliveries to other islands and to Northern Ireland are made by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Deliveries to the EU are charged at 12.5% of the value of the order (excluding VAT). With the exception of certain heavier orders, items to the EU are sent by Royal Mail International Signed For Delivery.

Deliveries to destinations outside the UK and the EU are charged at 20% of the value of the order (excluding any applicable taxes) and may attract local taxes or import duties for which we are not responsible. Orders to destinations outside the UK and the EU are sent by Royal Mail International Signed For Delivery.

Returns and cancellations

 

If for any reason the product you have ordered does not meet your expectations and you wish to return it, please send it back to us, in the same condition in which we supplied it to you, with proof of purchase, within 14 days of receipt by you and we will arrange for it to be refunded or exchanged at your option. This does not affect your statutory rights.

 

You also have the right to cancel your order within 7 working days. Please contact us immediately if you wish to do this. You must return the goods to us in their original condition.

 

Product guarantee

 

We guarantee our products against any manufacturing defect over the lifetime of the product. If your product should suffer any such defect, you should return it to us for repair or replacement. The cost of returning the product to us will be for your account, while we will pay for returning it to you. This product guarantee excludes fair wear and tear. The lifetime of the product will vary depending on usage and other factors.
