No contract with you exists until we have accepted your order and you do not own the goods until we receive payment in full. We will take payment for the goods on receipt of your order. Please note that during the run up to Christmas we publish dates by which we advise orders should be made in order to receive items for Christmas delivery. We reserve the right to refuse an order, whether as a result of goods being unavailable or when we reasonably believe payment for the goods cannot be made. We will contact you if there is any problem with your order. These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between John Chapman Limited and you, the customer, in respect of the use of our services and website. They supersede all prior agreements, arrangements and representations. You should read these terms and conditions carefully as they cannot be altered without agreement. CABIN BAGGAGE ALLOWANCES

It is essential that you check the baggage allowances permitted by your carrier, as these may vary from time to time and between carriers. The fact that a piece of luggage complies with IATA cabin baggage guidelines does not guarantee that it will be accepted by every carrier as a carry-on bag.

Your use of such sites is at your own risk. You must obtain our express written permission to link to this website. PRIVACY, SECURITY AND DATA PROTECTION

We will ensure that your personal information is treated in accordance with the applicable data protection laws in the UK. This information will be kept secure and any data supplied to us will be collected and used to enable us to fulfil your order. To ensure the security of your data your browser will connect to a secure section of our site when you wish to make a purchase. This is different from a normal internet browsing connection and your browser should show an icon to indicate that it has made a secure connection. Your personal information is encrypted as it travels over the internet.

ACCURACY OF INFORMATION

All weights and measurements shown on this website are approximate. All colours shown are reproduced to the best of our ability but, depending on your colour settings and variations in material supplied to us, may vary from the actual colour of goods supplied to you. The dimensions of the goods shown on this website represent the overall dimensions, including any relevant pockets, but you should be aware that, as the goods are generally made from soft fabrics, the actual dimensions will depend on how the product is filled, used or carried at any particular time. Please note that we reserve the right to make small amendments to individual products without posting new images on the website, as supplier materials and manufacturing processes may inevitably change from time to time.

DESPATCH, DELIVERY AND DUST BAGS

If your bag is an In Stock item, we aim to despatch it within 2 business days of receiving your order. If your bag is a Made to Order item, this means we make the bag specially for you on receiving your order. Depending on the style and available capacity, this can take up to 20 business days, although we always try to despatch as quickly as possible, and before Christmas we reserve production capacity to speed up Made to Order items. Please tell us if you want a Made to Order item by a particular date. Please note that, unlike other retailers, we do not claim that delivery is free! It has to be charged somewhere and we prefer to show the charge separately rather than include it in the price of the product and then say it’s free. Deliveries to the UK are charged at 10% of the value of the order (excluding VAT) up to £85, and a flat rate of £8.50 thereafter. Deliveries to mainland UK and certain islands are generally made by overnight courier. Deliveries to the EU are charged at 12.5% of the value of the order (excluding VAT). With the exception of certain heavier orders, items to the EU are sent by international Signed For courier. Deliveries to destinations outside the UK and the EU are charged at 25% of the value of the order (excluding any applicable taxes) and may attract local taxes or import duties for which we are not responsible. Orders to destinations outside the UK and the EU are sent by international Signed For courier. Please note that during the run up to Christmas we publish dates by which we advise orders should be made in order to receive items for Christmas delivery. We offer complementary dust bags with all bags valued at £300 or more including VAT and on most full leather bags, and as an option on other bags. If you buy a bag with a complementary dust bag included, you will see it shown at £0.00 value during your checkout process.

RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS

If for any reason the product you have ordered does not meet your expectations and you wish to return it, please send it back to us, in the same condition in which we supplied it to you, with proof of purchase, within 14 days of receipt by you and we will arrange for it to be refunded or exchanged at your option. This does not affect your statutory rights. You also have the right to cancel your order within 7 working days. Please contact us immediately if you wish to do this. You must return the goods to us in their original condition. Please note that your right to return a product applies only to standard products offered for sale on our website. Bespoke commissions of non standard products made specially for you are not returnable although our product guarantee described below will apply. Similarly it is not normally possible to cancel a bespoke commission once ordered and paid for if work has commenced on the commission.

PRODUCT GUARANTEE

We guarantee our products against any manufacturing defect over the lifetime of the product. If your product should suffer any such defect, you should return it to us for repair or replacement. The cost of returning the product to us will be for your account, while we will pay for returning it to you. This product guarantee excludes fair wear and tear. The lifetime of the product will vary depending on usage and other factors.
